Wondering if your SAT scores are good enough to get into your dream school? Here is a list of the 25th–75th Percentile SAT scores of colleges across the United States so that you can figure out which schools are a reach, a match or a safety.
Not sure what these numbers mean? The lower number represents the 25th percentile of students enrolled in (not just those who applied to) the college. So for the first school on our list, 25% of enrolled students received a math score of 500 or lower. The higher number is for the 75th percentile of students enrolled. For example, at Alfred University, 75% of students got a math score of 610 or lower. So if you have a math score of 620 you would be in the top 25% of applicants but if you had a score of 490 you would be in the bottom 25% of applicants.
So if your scores are below the 25th percentile number (the lower of the two numbers) the school might be a reach for you and you might want to consider also applying to a school whose SAT scores are more in line with yours. However, remember that this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still apply, 25% of students who enroll have a score that is at or below the lower number.
